Jackson Launches! :-)

We’d like to introduce Jackson : http://www.portfoliositez.com/jackson/ (images courtesy of Jessica Price – thanks Jessica!)
Jackson is our first generation 2 template. The generation 2 features it has are:
* direct linking to pages
* built in google analytics support
* stripped down html content display that will show your text and images to search engines and non-javascript enabled vistors
* unlimited gallery sections which can each hold unlimited galleries
* jukebox per gallery section
* 200+ advanced settings that will let you tweak everything from the position of the fancy vertical text to the animation times and types
* no hard coded labels, you have complete control over every bit of wording throughout the site
* NEW jukebox
* NEW front-end cart
* NEW flexible interface so you choose how large you want it to expand to so that your images look just right
Each text section can take any vertical size image – it will adjust it’s text position based on the width of the image
The calendar rollovers are now dynamically sized to fit the text you enter – no more running out of room with date descriptions
The new user-friendly design of the cart will allow easy adding of images to the cart. You choose what galleries (front-end or proofing) you would like it to show in
New package editor allows clients to easily add any image to the package without having to save them to favorites first
New lightbox popup feature so any thumbnail in the cart can be clicked on to see an extra large version of the image so you clients can look at the details closely. You have full control over the watermarked copyright saying that appears over the image to prevent the image being used for printing.
New jukebox has an euqualizer built in to move to the song beat that you upload
SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
- You can now order Jackson from our site. Use the coupon 5OFFJACKSON to receive $5 off an extra template, switch, or new service purchase of Jackson. Use the coupon 25OFFJackson to receive $25 off an individual purchase of Jackson.
- We are still debugging so setups will NOT begin until Monday. We will be setting up the sites on a first come first serve basis. If there are a lot of orders then those who ordered later may be setup on Tuesday or Wed. Any rush orders from here until Monday will be setup first.
- We will be creating another sample of Jackson showing the advanced features such as the proofing, music in the galleries, and twitter and facebook links on Monday.
- If Jackson isn’t your cup of tea no worries! This is just the first of many generation 2 designs. See us at WPPI at the beginning of March to see what new designs we have to show you!

Looks gorgeous. I see a few glitches though. I can’t click on the “children” gallery if there’s a slideshow already running. It opens the shopping cart instead. In the shopping cart, the pop up that appears when hovering over the magnifying glass for an added album extends past the right edge of my screen and you can’t scroll to see what it all says.
Is there a way to add a “help” or instructions text within the shopping cart? I love the new features, but suspect my clients would want a bit of extra help understanding what to do…would be great if it was right there in the shopping cart dialogue box.
Otherwise, I’m very excited to see this new design! Nice work!

I am working on debugging so I will definitely work on making the shopping cart button not active when a drop down menu is open. I will also add an advanced setting to allow you to add ‘buffer’ space to the rollover description to move it right and left as you see fit. I will look into adding a help button that will open a pop-up box that will display a paragraph of helpful information that you can set in the admin.
Looks great guys! I am excited to see the ones you release at WPPI ( I have commitment issues LOL).
Just one thing….. Did you notice that the copyright on the template preview states “2008″. I don’t know if it matters but I thought I would give you a heads up anyway.

I know you are working out glitches, but I can’t click on anything
Only page I can get is the home page. It rotates the same 3 or so photos. About, Galleries, etc…don’t seem to work.

I wasn’t able to re-create the issue, but I do want to make sure everything is working so can you reply with your operating system and browser that you are using so we can try to re-create it more exactly?

I love what I’ve got now but this is really something!
First, I have to say this new build-out is very promising, yay and congrats!!
I am a little confused, however. With the front-end cart is the password protection eliminated? And, if the galleries are set as a portfolio sampling will it automatically be set with a cart?
One more…Is the background customizable and can we change the color to white instead of showing color(s)?

Hey Carlise! The front-end cart does not replace the proofing which will work just like our other templates with the password protected entry. The only difference is you now will have control over showing the cart in each proofing gallery for a client, as well as uploading music for each client.
The background is customizable and can be set to an image, a color changing png, or a solid color. You also have full control over the content panel (the big rectangle) box color. On monday I will be putting together a sample that includes the proofing and a solid color theme with no changing colors. The sample will have a white content area that does not change color
I had the issue as Michelle, but then when I reloaded the page it worked perfectly.

Can you change the font of the fancy vertical text?
Yes, we can change that to any font you would like
You also have the option to turn the fancy font title and the lines off in the sitezadmin

Can you turn the shopping cart off if you want to and not let them purchase online?
Also, is there an option to pay with PayPal or does all the information just come to you and then you deal with that later?
If you turn it off will it be turned off on the whole site or just that area?
