Each Friday this Fall, we will be running a contest on photos submitted by you! Instead of a “random” winner, the person whose image has the most “LIKES” wins!
Rules: one photo per contest and no voting on your photo. The winner and theme of the next contest will be announced Friday mornings.
Prize: $20 towards anything… (cannot be credited toward monthly/yearly payments)

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE A FLASH SITE?
A: There is a lot of competition out there for photographers, so what gives you the edge? Having a website is definitely a must but why a flash site? The answer is simple: presentation. Potential clients are going to be searching the web and coming across a lot of photographers, you need to have a site that really showcases your work and creates an emotional connection with your style. A flash site really showcases your work in the most flattering manner so your clients can get a sense of the emotion you captured as well as the technical excellence. Imagine your images as prints, you can deliver a stand-alone print easily and fast, however if you really want to wow your client wouldn’t you prefer them to see the image matted and in a frame that really enhances the photo?
IS IT TRUE FLASH IS NOT SEO FRIENDLY?
A: This used to be the case, and still is with some flash sites, however our generation II templates are SEO friendly just like html sites. We’ve created a site structure that displays your content as an html page for search engines. That means all your text is indexable as well as the direct links to that text. There is also the ability to create a different meta title for each page, and generate a sitemap of all your flash pages that can be submitted to search engines. The best part is if one of the indexed flash urls is clicked from the search engine it takes them directly to the flash page. This means you get the search engine friendliness of an html site without sacrificing the experience for your visitor!
WILL MY FLASH SITE SHOW ON SMARTPHONES AND IPADS?
A: Yes and no. Many smartphones now support flash (such as the Droid) so your flash site will load creating a stunning mobile presentation. However, to support the phone and devices that don’t we have created an fast loading mobile version for the generation II templates as well as an IPad version. The mirror sites are designed specifically for those devices to showcase your work fast and efficiently. Our IPad site is also the only mirror site specifically designed for the IPad to utilize the touchscreen interface giving your visitors a unique interactive experience. This will make your site stand out from your competition’s standard html mirror sites. With the mirror sites your content will be able to be pulled up anywhere in a very professional manner.
DO FLASH SITES LOAD SLOWER THEN HTML SITES?
A: For the most part they do, but on high speed connections the difference is nominal. If your in an area with a lot of dial-up users, or non-tech savvy users, an html site or blogsite is your best choice. If you are in a metro area or big city we recommend the flash sites as most your visitors will have high speed connections and appreciate the multimedia experience of your website.
SHOULD I GO WITH A HTML SITE, BLOGSITE OR FLASH SITE?
A: This really depends on your location, target audience, and your ability to update the site regularly. If you are in an area with dial-up connections then an html site or blogsite is best. A blogsite is best if you want both the fast loading html of wordpress and the multimedia presentation of a flash site for your headers and galleries. With a blogsite it is important to be able to update it regularly with posts, otherwise it may give the impression you don’t have many clients or much work. If you want to create an emotional multimedia experience for your work a flash site is best. A flash site also is the better choice if you don’t think you’ll be updating it regularly.
